My teaching method is indivuaized to the belonging of my students. Studying languages is like Building a house, it is important to get a good base first. I also try to be as authentic as possible, as languages are nothing estatic. In order to move on quickly, memorizing is necessary too, as there is simply no need to understand everything right from the beginning. Studying languages is about Input and Output, about learning by doing. In my opinion there are two main aspects: 1) the study area (I call it the protected area where students get the support of me as a teacher) and 2) being exposed to the world outside of the classroom (I call it wildness), where the students have to be quick answering and reacting. In the first area, the protected area students can ask, express their doubts and study grammer and pronunciation. In the second area, the wildness, the students can listen, explore and repeat.
A main advice I usually give to my students is to be attentive . Focus on what you see. There is this amount of publicity everywhere, read it and think about it. Listen to conversations from others and do not stop writing down things by hand as the process of memorizing is automatically given if phrases are written down.
Words are not Independent, they work all together, it is a like puzzle. What I mainly mean by that is, study the verbs with the right preposition from the beginning on, put the words in a context.
Get a little bit more distanced from your mother tongue, as culture and structure is different from each language almost.
Do not expect to much. Studying languages is a process. During classes you get some much input and rules etc., try to absord it and repeat little amounts of it but do it constantly.
Talk to yourself. It might sound a little bit weird, but just do it and do not feel ashamed. It is a way of studying pronunciation and get used to the differents sounds of the words.
Try to find language Partners who allows you to finish phrases. In a groupe of native Speakers ist often so hard, it even happens while talking to just one person. If you are too slow, and your Partner finishes your phrases, focus on how he does it and answer repeating the same structure. During your learning process you have to pass trough thos artifial situations, that often feel like a game but it is just necessary before you get as professional as your answer are natural.
Try to keep it simple. Do not put all grammer you studied and a phrase. Less is more.
Do not get frustrated of the feeling to be stuck. Just keep on studying and focus on the best conversation you had once if you feel like a beginner getting up in the morning even though going to classes for a long time.
Lust but not least, bear in mind that we all are indivudals with our accents, needs and speed. Just resist, be patient and try to be happy of getting the opportunity to get a more tolerant and Patient person studying languages.
