Über Milad

About Me: Your Guide to Spanish Fluency & Culture I hold a BA in Spanish Language and Literature and an MA in International Relations, backed by over 10 years of experience as a Spanish tutor. Beyond academic qualifications, my journey with Spanish is deeply personal and extends into the vibrant heart of Hispanic culture. I'm not just a teacher; I live and breathe languages! As a polyglot fluent in 4 languages (with German as my next language to master, having actively learned it for a year now), I understand the joys and challenges of language acquisition firsthand. In fact, learning and teaching languages are my main hobbies – a true passion. My practical experience is vast: I've worked as an interpreter for three Hispanic agencies, bridging communication gaps and gaining invaluable insights into real-world Spanish usage. My professional background also includes roles as a translator for various organizations, including universities, and experience in an international import/export company. This unique blend allows me to infuse our lessons with practical business vocabulary and authentic cultural insights. My immersion in Hispanic culture runs deep: I've had the incredible opportunity to perform in two plays by the renowned Spanish playwright Federico García Lorca – Yerma and Blood Weddings. I also served as the secretary of the Spanish Association at my university, actively promoting cultural exchange. And yes, my love for Hispanic culture even extends to playing Flamenco Guitar! All these experiences equip me to guide you not just in learning Spanish, but in truly understanding its rich cultural tapestry. Let's make your Spanish learning journey as rich and rewarding as mine has been.

My approach is built on the belief that learning Spanish should be an enriching and enjoyable journey. With 10 years of experience as a Spanish tutor, I've honed a teaching style that's both effective and highly adaptable to your unique needs. How I Teach and Share Knowledge My teaching methods are rooted in interactive communication and practical application. I don't just teach grammar rules; I help you use Spanish confidently. Teaching Techniques & Methods: Expect a dynamic blend of techniques. We'll use communicative activities like role-plays and debates to practice real-life scenarios. I integrate engaging multimedia—songs, short films, news clips—to make abstract concepts tangible. Gamified quizzes help reinforce vocabulary and grammar without feeling like a chore, and lively discussions based on your interests keep you motivated. We'll build a strong foundation in grammar and vocabulary, but always with an eye on how it translates to real-world conversations. Typical Course of a Lesson: Each lesson is tailored, but generally, we'll start with a brief review of previous concepts, followed by the introduction of new material through interactive exercises and practical examples. We'll then immediately apply what you've learned through conversational practice and targeted activities. I provide immediate, constructive feedback to help you correct mistakes and solidify your understanding. We'll conclude with a summary of key takeaways and, if desired, a fun challenge or a glimpse into our next topic. Special Features as a Teacher: My unique strength lies in my adaptability and cultural depth. I can teach both Castilian Spanish (from Spain) and Mexican Spanish, catering to students who live in, plan to visit, or simply have an interest in either region. We'll explore the nuances in pronunciation, vocabulary, and cultural etiquette that set these dialects apart. My goal is to make learning not just about language acquisition, but about true cultural immersion, allowing you to connect authentically with Spanish speakers from different backgrounds. I also pride myself on creating a super supportive and encouraging environment where you feel comfortable making mistakes and asking questions. Who My Lessons Are For My lessons are designed for learners of all levels and backgrounds, from absolute beginners (A1) taking their first steps, to intermediate (B1-B2) students looking to boost their fluency, and advanced (C1-C2) speakers aiming for native-like proficiency or specialized vocabulary. Whether you're a student preparing for exams (DELE, SIELE, AP Spanish), a traveler planning a trip to Madrid or Mexico City, a professional needing Spanish for work, or simply someone passionate about exploring new cultures, I'll customize our sessions to meet your specific goals and learning style.
