Über Robin
I am a British animator living in Basel, working in Zürich. I've been resident in Switzerland since 2013.
Over the course of my career I have worked in animation studios and advertising agencies in London, Berlin and Zürich - and as a freelancer all over the place.
I helped to form Studio Toc in Zürich, an independent animation studio making cultural projects, with a focus on animated series and original films in the cultural field.
Over the years I have had many opportunities to coach, teach and give workshops to people of all ages. I have found that it brings me a great deal of pleasure to teach, which is one of the main reasons that I am offering my services here to you.

My lessons are aimed at beginners through to advanced and professional creatives.
Lessons are individually tailored to each person’s level, goals and interests. I typically begin by establishing what you would like to achieve and which skills or knowledge are needed to get there. Then we can develop the most effective and practical approach to reach that goal.
Depending on your needs, lessons can cover one or all of the following:
- building skills in a specific software
- animation techniques and guidance
- solving a specific problem in an existing project
- design & concept development
- practical help in getting personal projects planned and funded
A typical lesson begins by discussing your current project or learning goal. We then work together on specific exercises or tasks, with the focus adapting to your individual questions and difficulties. At the end, we review the key things you have learned and discuss possible next steps.
I have many years of experience on a wide range of different projects, which give me a very good basis to approach any needs or projects you bring to me, whether it is cultural, artsy, corporate or commercial.
Lessons are suitable for teenagers and adults, from people with no previous experience through to those looking to develop their professional skills or seeking support with a specific project, portfolio or showreel.
I can also offer beginner coaching in 3D animation for Cinema 4D or Blender (object animation, modelling, lighting and rendering) as well as illustration, graphic design and stop motion animation.
