Über Stylianos
Hello! My name is Stylianos, and I am a Mathematics graduate from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and a Master's student at the University of Zurich.
You might be surprised to hear this, but I was not born loving every single mathematics lesson. Like many students, I sometimes found classes boring, struggled with certain topics and wondered why I had to learn them. What made the difference was discovering that mathematics is not about memorising formulas—it is about understanding patterns, solving puzzles and learning how to think.
That discovery changed everything. I graduated first in my high school class and achieved the highest score in mathematics among all students in my municipality in the national high school examinations. Later, I graduated in the top 10% of Mathematics graduates at Aristotle University and continued my studies at the University of Zurich. If I managed to do it, there is no reason why you cannot achieve your own goals too. The real question is: shall we find together the learning method that works best for you?
Beyond academic achievements, I am passionate about education itself. I hold a Teaching and Pedagogical Competence Certificate and have practical teaching experience in secondary education. I have also presented educational activities on innovative mathematics teaching, including the use of games and interactive learning approaches. I strongly believe that every student can succeed when lessons are adapted to their individual learning style and interests.
My goal is simple: to help you understand mathematics, gain confidence and maybe even start enjoying the subject. Once that happens, studying becomes something you do with motivation rather than obligation.
Whether you are preparing for school exams, the Matura, university courses or simply want to strengthen your mathematical foundations, I would be delighted to support your learning journey.

Did you know that mathematics can even be learned through video games? One of my core beliefs is that students learn best when lessons connect with their interests and the way they naturally think. My primary goal is not simply to help you pass an exam, but to help you genuinely enjoy mathematics. Once a student develops curiosity and confidence, studying becomes a rewarding challenge rather than an obligation.
As a Mathematics graduate, Master's student at the University of Zurich and holder of a Teaching and Pedagogical Competence Certificate, I apply the principles of differentiated instruction. This educational approach recognises that every student learns differently. Some learners benefit from visual explanations, others from discussion and verbal reasoning, while others learn best through hands-on activities, real-life applications, games or problem-solving challenges. For this reason, I adapt every lesson to the student's individual learning profile rather than following a one-size-fits-all method.
A typical lesson begins with a brief review of previous material and identification of any difficulties the student may have encountered. We then explore new concepts through carefully selected examples and guided practice before progressing to increasingly challenging exercises. Throughout the lesson, emphasis is placed on understanding concepts, developing logical thinking and building problem-solving skills rather than relying on memorisation.
My aim is to create a supportive and motivating learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and discovering the beauty of mathematics. I offer lessons in Mathematics and selected Science subjects for secondary school, high school and Matura-level students, as well as support for university students in introductory mathematics courses.
