Über Bridget
My name is Bridget, and I am a native English speaker originally from Cape Town, South Africa. I offer English lessons that focus on communication, confidence, and real-life use of the language. With years of teaching experience and a friendly, engaging approach, I help my students make steady progress - no matter their age, background or proficiency level.
Every lesson is adapted to your level, interests and learning goals. We learn useful vocabulary and phrases you can use in everyday situations - whether for travel, work, school or casual conversation. As a German speaker myself, I understand the specific challenges German and Swiss-German speakers face when learning English and how to overcome them.

I value providing a friendly, supportive, and tailored learning experience. I combine communicative teaching methods with practical, real-life situations, focusing on building confidence in speaking, listening comprehension, and expanding vocabulary.
A typical lesson begins with a short warm-up in the form of a question, picture, video, etc., and then we move on to the main topic, e.g. grammar, vocabulary, etc. We practice through interactive exercises, speaking practice, and listening tasks, and end with a Q&A session to reinforce what was learned. One of my specialities is making learners feel comfortable and understood through being encouraging, engaging, and able to adjust to a student's learning level. My teaching is aimed mostly at adults who want to improve their English for travel, everyday life, or personal growth from beginner to advanced level.
