I've met with my teacher Başak Yavuz at Bahçeşehir University "Jazz Vocal Performance" Master Program. I studied with her vocalization and singing techniques, jazz vocal and improvisation techniques, jazz arrangement and repertoire. I took also "Songwriting Techniques" and "Jazz Ensemble" courses during this period.

In my opinion, Başak Yavuz is not only one of the most successful jazz vocalists and songwriters but also as an academician she has a very innovative visions about teaching. She has a very special methods and technics of teaching jazz vocal, improvisation and songwriting. One of the most effective and distinctive features of Başak Yavuz is her ability to transfer all her knowledge and experience in this field to her students. She's a successful guide for many singers and she knows very well how to inspire them.
I feel very lucky to have studied with her and I would recommend her to anyone who wants to improve himself/herself in this area.

She is my favorite vocal teacher. I studied jazz vocal with her for 2 years and during that time I learned a lot. Her musical knowledge is very high.
