Über Richard
Hello! My name is Richard, and I am a native English speaker from the United Kingdom, a qualified English teacher, professional linguist, and university lecturer.
I have more than eight years of teaching experience and have taught students in five different countries. In addition to teaching English, I have spent many years teaching and researching languages at university level, helping students develop advanced communication, writing, and analytical skills.
My academic qualifications include a First-Class BA in Modern Languages and Cultures from Durham University, an MA in Slavic Philology from the University of Freiburg, and a Trinity College London CertTESOL teaching qualification. I currently teach English and language-related subjects at university level in Munich.
Languages and linguistics have always been my passion. Having learned and studied numerous foreign languages myself, I understand both the challenges and the rewards of language learning. This experience allows me to explain English clearly and effectively while adapting lessons to each student’s individual needs.
Students appreciate my patient, supportive approach and my ability to explain grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, and style in a way that is both practical and easy to understand. A typical lesson begins with a review of previous material, followed by targeted language practice and personalised feedback designed to address your specific strengths and weaknesses.
I have taught English in five countries and have many years of experience working with university students, researchers, and professionals. My background in linguistics allows me to explain complex aspects of English clearly and systematically, helping students understand not only what is correct, but also why.
My lessons are particularly suitable for advanced learners who want to refine their English, improve accuracy, expand their vocabulary, and communicate with greater confidence in demanding academic or professional environments. However, motivated learners of all levels are welcome.
