Über Gianluca
My name is Gianluca and I am a German teacher with a master's degree in Modern Languages and Literatures (Teaching) from the University of Turin. Languages are not only my profession, but also my passion.
In April 2025, I obtained the Goethe-Institut C2 certificate (Großes Deutsches Sprachdiplom) – the highest officially recognized language level in German. I also have a C2 certificate in English. This enables me to explain learning content contrastively if necessary and to highlight linguistic differences in a targeted manner.
I teach German at various levels (A1–C1) and have experience with both young people and adults. I currently work as a German as a foreign language teacher at EF Language Travel, where I teach learners from different countries. Previously, I also worked as a German teacher in Switzerland.
In addition to my teaching experience, I have also worked in an international environment, including in the fields of export and communication. This experience is particularly helpful in the area of “German for work,” as I am very familiar with economic and administrative contexts.
What sets me apart is my structured yet empathetic teaching style. I place great importance on clear explanations, systematic structure, and active speaking. My goal is for my students to not only understand grammar, but to be able to use the language confidently, accurately, and with self-assurance.
For me, languages are a tool for opening up new perspectives—and that is exactly what I want to convey to my students.

You don't learn German by memorizing tables – you learn it through active use, genuine communication, and a clear system.
My lessons combine structure, practice, and motivation. I work with a clear didactic structure based on the standards of the Goethe-Institut and the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. At the same time, I design each lesson individually and with a specific goal in mind.
Typical lesson structure
1. Activation & introduction (approx. 10–15 minutes)
We start with a speaking activity or a short review.
Goal: Activate prior knowledge, reduce inhibitions, get straight into speaking.
Example:
Mini dialogues
Prompting questions
Short review with transfer task
2. Introduction of new content (approx. 20 minutes)
New grammar or vocabulary is introduced in context – never in isolation.
Instead of:
“Today we are learning the perfect tense.”
I work with:
a dialogue
a realistic situation
a text with a clear structure
The learners actively discover rules with my guidance. This ensures that the knowledge is retained in the long term.
3. Structured practice phase (approx. 20 minutes)
Here we consolidate what we have learned:
controlled exercises
guided dialogues
targeted error correction
clear systematization
I attach great importance to correcting errors constructively and transparently. My learners know exactly why something is wrong – and how they can improve it.
4. Free application & transfer (approx. 15–20 minutes)
Now it's time for communication:
role-playing
discussions
practical simulations
work-related scenarios (if required)
