Über Chris
I am originally from Ireland, so English is my native tongue. While in Ireland I completed my bachelor's in sports science before changing career paths to undertake a Master's in Molecular Biology. I became fascinated with researching neurodegenerative diseases after attending a lecture during my undergrad and have dedicated my whole career since to research them. I then got accepted to the prestigious Marie Curie PhD program. During this time, I completed my PhD project focusing on the pathology of Parkinson's disease. I successfully defended my thesis with top marks in April 2024, and since then, I am continuing to pursue a research career at the ISTA near Vienna.

I believe that for a lesson to be effective, it must be engaging and interesting. Therefore, my teaching method revolves around regular breaks for questioning, to assess comprehension, ensuring the student is always able to follow along as best they can. Learning a new subject is always challenging and I think the confidence to be able to make mistakes is vitally important to progress. I believe what sets me apart from other tutors is patience. I understand that not everybody learns distinct topics at the same speed, one might be a genius on the guitar in weeks, but take months to grasp basic algebra in math.We are simply wired different, but with time and effort, I believe anyone can become proficient at any skill. I have studied Biology right up to the highest education level, recently earning my PhD. My lessons would be most effective for those needing help in late-stage school biology or undergraduate courses in biology. Specifically, my expertise lie in the domains of cell and molecular biology.
