Über Ivan
Hi, my name is Ivan. I am a professionally trained drummer (Bachelor of Music, Russian Gnesin Academy of Music, Moscow) with international performing experience.
Drums hold a very special place in my life.
For me, they are much more than an instrument — they are a form of freedom and a way to express emotions and ideas that words sometimes cannot.
Music has always been one of the greatest sources of connection, inspiration, and healing in my life.
While science has shown the positive effects of music on our wellbeing, I believe that actively creating music and sharing that experience with others takes it to another level.
But before we dive into all the fun of playing, we start with the foundation: your body.
Your body is your greatest tool as a drummer, so we will focus on healthy technique, proper posture, warm-ups, relaxation, and habits that allow you to play comfortably and sustainably.

Whether you are picking up drumsticks for the first time, returning to drums after years away, or looking to become a more complete musician, my goal is to help you develop strong fundamentals and a deeper understanding of the instrument.
My teaching is built around three principles:
healthy technique, solid foundations, and musical expression.
Before focusing on speed or difficult exercises, I believe every drummer should learn how to play efficiently and safely. This means understanding posture, warm-ups, hearing protection, relaxation, and techniques that allow you to progress while avoiding unnecessary tension and injuries.
Every student is different, so I create a personalized approach based on your goals. Together we can work on:
• learning your first songs and grooves
• improving timing, coordination, and control
• developing better technique and fluidity around the drum set
• learning to read drum notation
• understanding jazz drumming and musical communication
• becoming a more confident and expressive drummer
My philosophy is simple: a great drummer is not the person who tries to stand out the most. A great drummer is the person who makes the whole band sound better — someone who listens, supports, communicates, and contributes musically.
Through my experience performing with many musicians in different environments, I focus not only on playing exercises, but on developing real musicianship: timing, listening, adaptability, and confidence.
My goal is that after every lesson you leave with a clear understanding of what to practice, why you are practicing it, and the motivation to continue improving. Are you ready to embark on this journey?
