Über Wakana
Hello, I’m Wakana — a certified Japanese teacher based in Vienna, originally from Tokyo.
I specialize in helping complete beginners build a strong N5 foundation from zero.
Many learners start Japanese with excitement, but soon become confused by grammar, particles, and sentence structure. My goal is to make Japanese clear and logical from the very beginning, so you don’t feel lost later.
With over 1,700 lessons taught, I have supported students from complete beginners to advanced learners from many different countries.

In my lessons, I use materials based on Minna no Nihongo and GENKI, together with visual explanations to make grammar easy to understand.
Complete beginners start step by step with hiragana and katakana, and then move on to grammar and conversation.
We also use shared Google Docs, so you can review vocabulary and lesson notes anytime.
Many students also learn Japanese for traveling to Japan, so we practice useful phrases and real-life conversations for your trip.
