Über Marija
My name is Marija and I'm a violinist from Bosnia and Herzegovina with over 20 years of experience. I fell in love with music when I was five and that love eventually led me to Belgrade, Serbia, where I completed both my Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Violin Performance. Along the way, I also enjoyed playing the piano, singing in choirs and exploring all the beautiful sides of music.
I'm currently based in Vienna and besides teaching violin, I occasionally perform chamber music and play in orchestras. It keeps me inspired and connected to performing.
I actually started teaching pretty early, first as a substitute for my own teacher and later during my studies I worked at a music school. Teaching has been a part of my journey ever since.

I'm really excited to share my love for music with students of all ages and levels. I come from the Russian violin school, but teaching online has given me the chance to meet people from all over the world and learn about so many different approaches to learning.
In my lessons, I like to encourage curiosity and keep the conversation open. I think that’s really important. My goal is to make playing the violin fun and motivating, while helping you build confidence and solid technique at your own pace.
Whether you’re getting ready for exams, recitals, auditions or just want to try something new, I'm here to help you out! And just so you know, I'm happy to teach in English or Bosnian/Croatian/Serbian, whichever you prefer!
