Über Elizabeth

I was born in Florida, though sadly about as far from any beach as the state allows!

After university in New York, I called Prague home for 5 years - I also got an MA in Economics there. I then headed back stateside to join USAID, working in humanitarian affairs for 12 years, over 7 of them working internationally, before making Istanbul my home.

I went on to launch my own tutoring business, the Native Speakers Academy, offering online lessons with a range of seasoned American teachers.

All those years spent away from the country where I was born, along with a constant study of languages, have given me a deep wish to connect the world through language. A shared language transforms the experience entirely, and I want to make that real for others.

The people who devote their time and energy to learning a new language never stop inspiring and motivating me.

Lessons with me are lively, enjoyable, and hard to forget. Depending on your goals and schedule, we can shape the pace and focus around what suits you best.

I bring plenty of experience helping students grow their vocabulary and confidence, whether for job interviews, workplace presentations, exams, or travel.

Having taught professional adults for over 8 Jahren across a wide range of fields, banking, telecoms, fintech, construction, human rights groups, and manufacturing, I offer a broad knowledge base I'm excited to pass on.

I've also guided students through many Cambridge and SAT exams and provide ACT, TOEFL, and IELTS preparation.

Living abroad for more than a decade, in Jordan, Czechia, Hungary, and now Istanbul, Turkiye, has made me skilled at communicating across cultures.
