Über Ali
My name is Ali. I am a theatre and filmmaker with a passion for teaching the English language. I have spent the past 8 years teaching English to all kinds of people, and nothing has made me happier than seeing them succeed.
Over the last few years, I have focused on IELTS and TOEFL prep, but have continued to tutor students in general English and English Literature.
In my personal life, I write and direct films and plays. I think my experience in the arts has been a major advantage in my teaching. It has helped me understand and connect to students better, and to find ways of teaching that can excite and motivate people.

My lessons are customised to your needs - it's that simple. I am not a fan of one size fits all. That is just not true, especially when it comes to learning and mastering a language.
Firstly, I would like to get to know you - your goals and motivations. Then, we will plan lessons that will help you achieve those goals within an appropriate time frame. It's all about finding a good balance. Whether you are looking to prepare for a big test, or you just want to improve your English language skills, we will find something that is just right for you.
In addition to the usual teaching material, I like to bring in and use material that excites you. Are you a big sports fan? Then we will use sports commentary and news in our lessons. Are you a major film buff? We will use scenes and dialogue from your favourite films to better learn English.
My goal is to help you find joy in learning and using the English language.
