Teaching Philosophy
As a German citizen with a migration background and English as my mother tongue, I bring an intercultural perspective to my teaching that allows me to compare and reflect on different educational, linguistic, and cultural contexts. These experiences have shaped my approach to teaching as both reflective and inclusive, grounded in a high level of language competence and cultural awareness.
My academic background and professional experience have enabled me to further develop skills in communication, mentoring, and personal competence development. I view teaching as a relational process that places meaningful engagement with learners at its core. Through mentoring and dialogue, I aim to support students not only in acquiring knowledge, but also in developing confidence, critical thinking, and self-awareness.
Having worked in fields such as public relations and politics, I place strong emphasis on communication techniques as central to effective teaching and learning. I encourage active participation, open discussion, and respectful exchange of perspectives, creating learning environments in which diverse voices are valued. My teaching philosophy is therefore rooted in the belief that education is most effective when it empowers learners to communicate clearly, think critically, and engage responsibly within society.
