Über Elizabeth Nora
I help non-native English speakers in mid- to senior-career positions sound and feel like the professionals they already are.
My students are typically engineers, consultants, founders, and executives whose English is technically excellent but whose voice, pronunciation, or delivery is holding them back in meetings, presentations, and interviews. This is rarely a vocabulary or grammar issue. It is a phonological and embodiment issue — the breath, body, and sound patterns of a first language interfering with how English lands in the room.
My approach to language learning combines:
1) The first is derived from vocal training from the Atlantic Theater Company conservatory at NYU — the Practical Aesthetics methodology founded by David Mamet. This includes dictation, pattern mapping and syncopation, and rhythmic/phonetic work.
2) The second is original research on phonological fossilisation patterns specific to Turkish, Spanish, and other language groups: the sounds a native language has trained the speaker not to produce, the places where stress and rhythm diverge from English, and the structured exercises that retrain those patterns reliably.
You can expect our sessions to be:
- Personalised and practical. We work with the student's actual presentations, emails, and upcoming high-stakes conversations. You must be able to apply this work seamlessly into your daily life.
- Each session ends with specific physical anchors and exercises for between-lesson practice.
My Education & Professional Background:
MSc Global Management, London School of Economics. PMP, CAPM, and CP3P-Foundation certifications. A decade of professional experience across Bolivia, Cuba, Somalia, Kenya, Türkiye, and Europe. Currently based in Vienna. Native English (US); C1 Spanish; B2 Turkish; B1 German.

My methodology is a three-part system designed for advanced English speakers who want their language to reflect their true expertise:
1. Diagnosis first – I begin by identifying exactly where your English is breaking down. This goes beyond grammar to include pronunciation, rhythm, and how your native language influences the way you hear and produce English.
2. Targeted training – I use language-specific techniques, rhythm and pronunciation work, and embodied speaking methods (drawn from performance and music training) to retrain how you speak in a precise, efficient way.
Authority in practice – We apply everything directly to real situations (meetings, presentations, interviews), so your English becomes clear, natural, and credible under pressure.
3. Typical lesson structure:
Each session follows a clear progression: brief diagnostic check-in → focused technical training → guided practice in real scenarios → direct, actionable feedback.
My teaching approach:
I teach in a highly structured, analytical way while keeping sessions practical and personalized. Rather than generic conversation practice, every exercise is intentional and directly tied to your professional communication goals.
What makes my approach unique:
My work combines research-based language training with techniques from performance, music, and improv. This allows me to address not just what you say, but how you sound, how you are perceived, and how confidently you deliver your ideas.

I specialize primarily in business/advanced (high B1, B2–C2) English speakers—particularly professionals, academics, and international clients—who already use English in their work but want to sound more natural, confident, and authoritative.
