Über Leona
I’m Leona, an Austrian-Chinese film and multimedia composer based in Vienna. I hold a Master’s degree in Music from New York University and a Bachelor of Music from City University of London, specializing in composition and screen scoring.
Teaching has always been an important part of my work. I have experience teaching music and composition to students of different ages and levels, as well as teaching at NYU as an adjunct faculty member. I enjoy creating a supportive and creative learning environment where students can develop their technical skills while finding their own musical voice.
Alongside teaching, I work professionally across film, animation, documentaries, video games, and songwriting. I teach in English and Chinese and welcome students from beginners to aspiring composers and songwriters.

Hi! I’m Leona, an Austrian-Chinese film and multimedia composer based in Vienna. I hold a Bachelor of Music from City University of London and a Master of Music from New York University, where I specialized in screen scoring and composition.
I’ve composed music for films, animation, documentaries, and video games, with my work performed by professional orchestras and featured at international film festivals. I’ve also worked as a composer intern on a Netflix production and have collaborated with filmmakers, animators, and musicians from around the world.
Whether you’re interested in film scoring, songwriting, orchestration, music production, or developing your own musical voice, I tailor each lesson to your goals and experience level.
In my lessons, we can work on:
Film & TV scoring — writing music that supports story, emotion, and picture
Songwriting — melody, harmony, lyrics, structure, and finding your own sound
Composition — developing musical ideas and turning them into complete pieces
Orchestration & arranging
DAWs and music production, including Logic Pro
Music theory and harmony in a practical, creative way
Portfolio development for aspiring composers and musicians
I teach in English and Chinese, and I welcome students of all levels.
