Über Michael
Hi! I'm Mike, an American English tutor, editor, musician, photographer and voice actor of German descent (hence the German name! :) ). I have lived all around the US (including New York City, LA, Washington D.C., etc.) and been to most of the 50 US states, which has further helped me hone my ear. I've always had an ear for accents, cadence, speech rhythm etc. and I specialise in speech, accent training and pronounciation exercises, to name a few. Together we can explore American culture, history and media, prepare you to communicate with Americans fluently and confidently, and have fun while learning in a varied, casual atmosphere. If you're looking for a way to improve your accent and learn to speak like your favorite movie stars - look no further. As a qualified tutor, editor and voice actor (and American, of course ;) ), I will help you get acquainted with listening to, understanding and speaking with an American accent. We will explore the world of idioms, cultural references and regional quirks that make your region of interest special (the US is a huge country, after all!). You are welcome to bring your own media to the lesson to discuss - be it novels, movies, TV series or songs - or we can use my recommendations as learning material. If you're preparing for a business trip or a listening or speaking exam, we can train for those as well. If you like a certain celebrity's / public figure's speaking style, we can break down their mannerisms together and get you to master the art of so-called "shadowing". Casual chat and cultural deepdives are also possible and welcome. See you soon! :)
