Über Yoojin
Hi there!
I'm Yoojin, a visual artist and Korean teacher. Let's learn Korean together, once or twice a week, like chatting with a friend. Before you know it, you'll catch yourself having a whole conversation in Korean! In fact, one of my students has been with me for four years now.
Having lived in Sweden and Germany and traveled all around the world, I fell in love with teaching Korean through the special connections I made along the way. I've studied English and French myself, and I'm learning German right now, so I know firsthand how daunting a new language can feel.
My lessons are a great fit if you:
• Prefer a relaxed but steady pace over intense cramming
• Want to explore Korean culture alongside the language
• Have roots in Korea, or want to grow new branches toward it
• Love fun, conversation-based learning but still care about accuracy
• Want to learn within a warm, friendly relationship with your teacher
I studied Fine Arts and Fashion at Seoul National University, and I'm currently working toward my Korean teaching certification.

Since 2021, I've been teaching learners from all over the world. From complete beginners starting with Hangeul to upper-intermediate (B2) speakers, and from 12-year-olds to learners in their 50s, I've worked with a wide range of levels and ages.
Here's how my lessons work:
• We combine speaking practice with coursebook study. (I choose a King Sejong Institute textbook that fits your level and goals, and share it with you before class.)
• We shape each lesson around your interests and goals, together.
• I keep every lesson's notes and feedback in your own Google Doc, so reviewing is easy.
• Light, manageable homework with feedback keeps your momentum going between lessons. Feel free to start by just chatting comfortably.
And if you ever get ambitious, we can take on TOPIK prep together. (Full disclosure: I survived Korea's infamously brutal college entrance exam and made it into Seoul National University)
So many of my students started out unsure of their Korean, then grew steadily, almost without realizing it, all while having fun. Along the way, we became real friends who stay in touch well beyond class. Even though we meet online, I think of our once- or twice-a-week lessons as time we truly spend together, sharing our lives. Our classes are about learning Korean and Korean culture, yes, but they're also about sharing each other's everyday moments.

Perfekt! Ich war von deretwegen Stunde an Fan von Xoojins Unterricht. Sie erklärt alles verständlich, langsam und geduldig. Das Unterrichts-material ist umfangreich, jedoch mit einem sehr guten Auffbau. Ich freue mich jede Woche auf meine Koreanisch-Stunde.
