Über Kira
Hi! I'm Kira, a native Korean speaker from Seoul, currently living in Berlin.
I teach Korean beyond the textbook! Not only grammar and vocabulary, but also how Korean is actually spoken and used in everyday life.
As a Korean in my early twenties, I can help you understand expressions younger Koreans really use, what sounds natural (or awkward!), and the cultural context behind the language. I can also recommend "content Koreans actually watch and read", as well as places locals really visit, so you can keep experiencing Korean outside the classroom.
I studied at Yonsei University in Seoul and have two years of 1:1 tutoring experience, teaching Korean high school students for the Korean section of the national college entrance exam. I also scored in the **100th percentile in Korean** myself. This background taught me how to break down complicated language concepts and explain subtle differences clearly.
I'm currently learning German intensively, so I also understand what it's like to learn a language from the student's side — especially the difference between knowing a rule and actually being able to use it.
My lessons are a great fit if you want to:

* speak more naturally and confidently
* learn how Koreans in their twenties actually communicate
* discover authentic Korean content and culture
* learn at your own level, pace and interests
Our main language for explanations will be English, with more Korean as your level grows.

My lessons are "personalized to your level, goals, and interests', from complete beginners learning Hangeul to learners who want to speak more naturally and confidently.
Here's how my lessons work:
• We combine "speaking practice with structured study"of grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation.
• I explain not only what is correct, but "why it works and what sounds natural" to a Korean speaker.
• We use as much Korean as is comfortable for your level, with explanations mainly in English.
• Lessons can focus on what matters most to you: everyday conversation, grammar, writing, pronunciation, Korean media, culture, or travel.
• I can recommend "authentic Korean content" based on your level and interests, so you can keep learning outside class too.
For beginners, we can start from Hangeul and build a clear foundation step by step. If you already speak some Korean, we'll identify where you're getting stuck and build the lessons around what you actually need.
