Über Danilo

I am a native English speaker (British English), with full primary, secondary and tertiary education completed entirely in English. Having been educated in the UK through the private school system – 15 years – and studied internationally, I am fully fluent and support learners in navigating English as a global language rather than solely a school subject. Academically, I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Business and Management from the Management Centre Innsbruck and a Master’s of Science in Global Sustainable Development from the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences, both fully taught in English. My academic background allows me to bring structure, clarity and real-world linguistic relevance to my tutoring. I stem from an intercultural and bilingual background and have lived, studied and worked in several European countries. This has provided me with a very strong awareness of international, intercultural and bilingual identities, as well as sensitivity to the linguistic and cultural nuances that often accompany learning and using English in multilingual environments.

I currently work as an Assistant English Teacher at a Montessori school in Vienna and am undergoing the formal Montessori Diploma Training at the Montessori Akademie Österreich. While my lessons are not strictly Montessori-based, they are well-informed by one key principle, namely “following the child / learner”. This entails observing individual needs, interests, pace and subsequently adapting lessons accordingly. I combine this with a clear structure, especially for beginner levels (A0 – B1), to ensure learners of all ages and levels feel heard, supported and challenged. Additionally, I speak German at a C1/C2 level, which can be used as supportive scaffolding when helpful and appropriate, especially for beginners, while maintaining English as the primary language of instruction.

Teaching Approach & Methods:

I combine structure with responsiveness. My lessons are Montessori-informed (I am currently completing formal Montessori training) while also providing clear linguistic guidance and measurable progress.

- Individualised lessons tailored to each student
- Focus on confidence, not fear of mistakes
- Natural spoken English
- Real-world vocabulary and pronunciation
- Support available in German (C1)

As a native British English speaker educated entirely in English (primary to Master’s level), I teach English as it is truly spoken and used internationally, not just textbook English.

Typical Lesson Structure:

Each lesson follows a calm and focused rhythm:

- Warm-up & review
- Targeted focus (vocabulary, grammar, reading, pronunciation or speaking)
- Practical application through guided conversation or interactive tasks
- Short reflection and goal-setting

For younger children, lessons are interactive and age-appropriate.
For adults, sessions focus on fluency, clarity and confident expression.

What makes me stand out:

- Native British English (fully educated in English)
- Assistant English Teacher in a Montessori school in Vienna
- Formal Montessori Diploma Training (ÖMA – ongoing)
- Academic background (BA. & MSc.)
- International upbringing & intercultural awareness
- Fluent German (C1)

I understand bilingual identities, language anxiety, and the gap between school English and real communication.

Who My Lessons Are For:

Children (6–12): Primary Focus

- Beginners or little prior exposure
- German-speaking children needing structured support
- International or bilingual families
- Children who need confidence in speaking

My goal: to help children feel comfortable, capable and proud in their ability to use and grow their English.

Adults (18+):

- Conversational English
- Fluency and vocabulary expansion
- Professional or everyday communication
- Speaking confidence

All levels are welcome! :)
