Über Candice

Hello! I am a native English speaker currently living and working in Vienna, with experience teaching and supporting students in developing their English skills. I have worked as an English assistant teacher in a kindergarten setting and have also provided private afterschool lessons to small groups of children. Through these experiences, I have developed a supportive and engaging teaching style that helps students feel comfortable and confident when speaking English.

I understand that learning a language can feel challenging at times, which is why I focus on creating a positive and encouraging learning environment. My lessons are interactive, practical, and adapted to each student’s individual goals and learning style. Whether a student wants to improve conversation skills, gain confidence speaking English, or receive support with schoolwork, I aim to make lessons both effective and enjoyable.

My academic background includes a Master’s degree in Environmental Science, and my professional experience has involved working in international and collaborative environments. This has strengthened my communication skills and allows me to support students who want to improve their English for academic, everyday, or professional situations.

Students who work with me can expect structured lessons, clear explanations, and a patient approach that focuses on building confidence and practical communication skills. I believe language learning works best when students feel relaxed, motivated, and supported throughout the process.

Lessons are suitable for children, teenagers, and adults, and I am happy to adapt the content to suit each learner’s level and objectives.

Teaching Approach

My approach to teaching English is supportive, interactive, and tailored to each student’s needs. I believe the best way to learn a language is through active communication, confidence building, and engaging activities. I aim to create a relaxed and positive learning environment where students feel comfortable speaking English and making mistakes as part of the learning process.

Teaching Techniques and Methods

Lessons focus on practical language use and are adapted to the student’s level and goals. I use a combination of conversation practice, vocabulary development, pronunciation guidance, and structured exercises. For younger learners, I incorporate games, storytelling, and interactive activities to keep lessons engaging and fun. For teenagers and adults, lessons can focus on conversation, school support, exam preparation, or professional communication.

I encourage students to speak as much as possible during lessons, as confidence and fluency develop through practice and regular interaction.

Typical Lesson Structure

A typical lesson usually includes:

A short warm-up conversation to build confidence and introduce the topic

Vocabulary or grammar focus related to the lesson theme

Interactive activities or exercises to practice new language

Conversation or role-play activities to apply what has been learned

Feedback and suggestions for improvement

Lessons are flexible and can be adjusted depending on the student’s goals, pace, and learning style.

Unique Characteristics as a Teacher

As a native English speaker with experience teaching young learners and tutoring small groups, I bring a patient, encouraging, and structured approach to lessons. My background working in international and professional environments also allows me to support students who want to improve their English for academic, everyday, or professional situations.

I focus on helping students develop confidence in speaking and communicating naturally, while also improving their vocabulary, pronunciation, and overall language skills.

Target Audience

Lessons are suitable for:

Children who want to improve their English through fun and interactive activities

Students who need support with school English or homework

Teenagers preparing for exams or developing speaking confidence

Adults who want to improve conversation skills or professional English

Lessons are adapted to suit beginners through to intermediate and advanced learners.
