• Since when have you had this passion for music and, in particular, for your favourite instrument?

  I have been playing the piano since I was a child, and over my 17-year journey with this instrument, I have explored many types of music. I started with classical pieces, performing my first concerts with works by Chopin, Beethoven, Debussy, and Mozart. Then came jazz, bringing incredible experiences with Hancock, Chick Corea, and Bill Evans. Currently, I am trying to find my own musical path both as a solo artist and in a band.

• What type of music could you listen to endlessly and with joy, without ever getting tired of it?

  I love jazz pianists such as Bill Evans, Keith Jarrett, Chick Corea, and Herbie Hancock. I listen to them every day; they are a great inspiration to me.

• Tell us about the most challenging or most surprising lesson you've ever had to give!

  Once, I had the opportunity to participate in a class in Switzerland with children who were just beginning their journey with the instrument. My knowledge of French is not particularly strong, so I tried to explain the topic using English. Although it seemed to me that the information I presented wasn't very clear, the students quickly caught on and followed the instructions well. I realized that music is the most universal language in the world.

• In your opinion, which is the most difficult instrument to learn and why?

  Undoubtedly, the drums. The level of coordination must be extraordinarily high.

• What do you think are the key factors for mastering an instrument?

  Thousands of hours of practice, patience, and a great deal of humility.

• Name three musicians you would love to meet at 2 a.m. in a bar and have a conversation with, and tell us why!

  I would like to talk to Keith Jarrett and ask for tips on building conscious improvisation. Meeting Marcus Miller is also on my dream list to discuss groove construction in a piece, as well as the specifics of virtuoso playing on the bass guitar. The third person would definitely be Bill Evans, to discuss his approach to band building and the separation of the right and left hand in improvisation.

• Is there an anecdote from your professional life, school days, or time at the conservatoire that you would like to share with us?

  I had an exam for my main instrument. I was very tired of the material required for the exam and for the last two weeks, I didn't practice at all (a youthful rebellion). When I came to the exam, I was sure I wouldn't pass. After performing all the pieces, my teacher said that I had never played them so well. Sometimes it's worth taking a break ;)

• In short: What makes you a Superprof who is loved by your students?

  This question should be directed to the students ;) I love working with others, putting a lot of energy and commitment into it. The best moment is when I see my student, after many lessons and hours of practice, playing a piece perfectly and fully understanding the topic.
